Work

On my blog I write many posts about people's art; some of these people are better known than others, but not for that reason their work is better or worse. If I write about them, it is because they have something I like, because their art is singular, attractive and, therefore, I find it interesting to make it known. I first met Carmela many years ago, while we were students at Huelva University. We were two young girls studying English Phylology. We had our dreams, challenges and goals, and were uncertain about what we could finally get and at what cost. And here we are, out of Huelva, our beloved hometown, and chasing our dreams.
But what is Carmela Baker's art?
Music, among other things. She is introducing her solo work "Imaginary Dark Edition" and from here I wish her good luck and courage (because working alone is not an easy task). You will get your reward for the hard and well done work.
To know more about her click here. But by now, click play and enjoy.

About

Carmela Baker was born in the mid 70's, what it means that her musical education was forged during the Golden Age of Music. Almost as if fate had planned it meticulously, her way from childhood into adolescence was accompanied by a luxurious soundtrack: Madonna, George Michael or Eurythmics, woke up from its lethargy the artist who was already inside her, since she was a child.
She studied English Philology but her creativity was far beyond the University walls and always showed a great enthusiasm for music. Carmela was always singing. She used to live in a musical she didn't want to be rescued from, and where she used to take with her anyone who listened.
She left Huelva, her hometown, to live in other cities such as Madrid or Valladolid. Always looking for her place. A nonconformist and a fighter. She played a part in Nostromo Connection, an innovative musical project and now, she is introducing her solo work.
Be a witness of a new birth.
The best of Carmela is yet to come.
